This is not the first time we talk about pocket knives (see Featherlight), because we believe that it is a must-have in a car, not for safety but because it can come in handy. The Mini Covert Automatic by Gerbert is a sleek black tactical knife with a hard anodized aluminum handle and a stainless steel blade. It is automatic, features a safety lock, and is small thus convenient. But more than that it is nice and simply well designed. Price tag: $60.

I completely agree the Gerber Mini Covert is an excellent knife. I am not quite sure why you should carry it in your car, because it comes in handy? When purchasing a knife you should really consider why you need this knife and purchase one for those reasons alone. A knife is a great tool but a tool none the less. Like I said the Gerber Mini Covert is a great knife but if you need one for the car you might consider a multi-funtion knife with a screwdriver and such. Just a thought – the best tool for you might be the right knife….
