Lego Chandelier by Tobias Tostesen

A stunning chandelier made of nearly 7,000 transparent Lego bricks by Danish industrial designer Tobias Tostesen which was presented during the 2013 Milan Design Week. “The approach was to change the notions of what LEGO is and to explore how the material can be challenged in terms of construction and tactility. “Empty Bamboo” is a sweet stationery set of 10 objects designed by Yu Jian. Each item features a hollowed bamboo stem combined with shiny metal parts. It would bring such a zen atmosphere and make us want to work, but it is just a concept for now. Enjoy!

Sawyer DIY Wooden Lowrider Bicycle by Jurgen Kuipers

Conceived by Dutch designer Jurgen Kuipers, the “Sawyer” won the bicycle segment of the International Bicycle Design Competition (IBDC) in Tapei, China. It is a low-rider beach cruiser made of wooden panels that comes in a 1:1 model kit like an injection molded sprue for the user to assemble together. Enjoy!

Cirrus Cloud Sofa by Dizajno

Designed by Lubo Majer for Dizajno, a Slovak brand specializing in design sofas, “Cirrus” is a nice piece of furniture inspired by the shape of soft clouds. “Virtually spontaneous composition of elements creates a perfect sofa for various seating and lounge positions. Curved shapes and sophisticated ergonomics define this unconventional contemporary piece and add to its functionality and comfort”. Enjoy!

Test Tube Chandeliers by GangDesign

Inspired by famous scientist Marie Skłodowska-Curie who won a Nobel Prize for her research on radioactivity, Polish designer Pani Jurek of GangDesign created this nice line of chandeliers made of test tubes and plywood bands. “The tubes are detachable and the lamp provides the opportunity for visual experiment by creating a variety of configurations and arrangements”. They are for sale on Etsy around 130-230 euros ($180-300). Enjoy!

Circuit Wall Clock by Stevan Djurovic

“Circuit” is a beautiful wall clock concept designed Serbian designer Stevan Djurovic. While its circular form follows the shape of traditional clocks, it fundamentally differs with its pointers that are made of LED lights. “On the outside of the clock light shows hours, on the inside of the clock the minutes, and in the middle of clock’s housing light indicates seconds”. Its case, made of plastic, would allow an easy manufacture with many shades of colours and could also be powered by batteries to avoid running cables. Enjoy!

Piamo Microwave Espresso Maker

Piamo is an ingenious espresso maker designed for your microwave which creates a fresh cup of espresso within 30 seconds. “Just fill water into the water chamber and insert a pad or ground espresso into the filter. Stack it and flip it around…and place Piamo into the microwave. Now your microwave does the magic: due to the heating, pressure builds up and presses the water through the coffee”. Sauna Box in Shipping Container by Castor Design

Canadian studio Castor Design created this cool traditional wood-burning sauna out of a shipping container. “The Sauna Box is completely self-contained with solar power and a wood fired stove. The box comes standard with iPod stereo, guitar hook-up, castor pool, magnetic truck light, wool toque and bronze antlers. The Sauna Box can be customized to suite any site”. Enjoy!

Snug by Kumeko

Prague-based furniture design company Kumeko created this fun cozy shell named the “Snug” with the intention of creating a flexible and comfortable item to relax in. “It consists of a soft inner cushion surrounded by a sleeve, creating a cozy shell which envelops the user. The integrated belt on the top of the sleeve allows Snug to be adjusted to support your body in a variety of different positions”. Enjoy!

New Google Office in Tel Aviv

Google recently moved into its new offices inside the Electra Tower in Tel Aviv, Israel, stepping things up quite close to what we could call the perfect office. Occupying a massive eight floors with each having its own theme and linked by tunnel slides, it features pretty much every design aesthetics you could think of: futuristic, rustic, beach, deckhouse, loft, playground, etc. It was designed by Camenzind Evolution in collaboration with Setter Architects and Studio Yaron Tal.
