Focus on Mark Sturkenboom
Lights on the works of Dutch artist Mark Sturkenboom whose main focus lies in the deep layers of the relation between objects and their owner. “What I design is meant to call forward a myriad of associations and to stimulate our thinking about what counts to us in our lives”. For instance, his mouse trap started with the idea that our households are strictly regulated as to who we allow to get in or not, including animals, and the sweet anticipation that a trap user goes through wishing that it will no longer be empty in the morning. Here are some of his great works. Enjoy!
